To help ensure that the results of your search are as accurate
as possible, please read the following tips:
- If you simply enter a string of words the search engine will
return a result of documents containing any of the words you input
with the results sorted by the date they were last edited. For
example, if you entered 'unwanted pregnancy' you would get far
more documents than you would expect and many would not be relevant
to your search. Try putting quotation marks around phrases to
search for that exact phrase.
- If, on the other hand, you include a "+" sign in your
search, you significantly increase the likelyhood of finding what
you are looking for! For example, if you entered "unwanted+pregnancy"
the search engine would return only documents which contained
both words.
- You may also use what are called "Boolean Operators".
These are simply AND, OR, NEAR. For example if you entered "unwanted
NEAR pregnancy" your chances of finding documents on the
subject matter would be greatest. The AND operator is the same
as the "+" discussed in #2 while the OR operator is
similar to entering a string without arguments as in #1. Make
sure you enter Boolean Operators in all caps.
